Whatlearn

  • Understand multiplication as repeated addition of the same number
  • Recognize and use the multiplication sign (×) correctly.
  • Make equal groups of objects to show multiplication
  • Write multiplication statements from pictures and real objects.
  • Convert repeated addition into multiplication sentences (e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 → 3 × 2 = 6).
  • Read and say simple multiplication facts correctly.
  • Solve simple word problems involving equal groups in everyday situations.

Description

In this lesson, learners will:

  • Understand multiplication as adding the same number repeatedly

  • Learn the multiplication symbol (×) and what it means

  • Represent multiplication using:

    • Objects (e.g., 3 groups of 4 balls)

    • Number sentences (e.g., 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 → 3 × 4 = 12)

  • Practice simple multiplication facts using pictures, arrays, and number lines

  • Solve real-life word problems involving equal groups

  • Develop confidence in reading and writing basic multiplication statements
